I was thinking the same thing. Just be warned that the stuff may come off if you touch it too much. That's why it's safer on the instrument bezels, where it's hardly touched. For the ashtray, try brushing on a good hard coat of clear coat, which *might* take off the shine a bit. If you never use the ashtray, then there's no problem.

(Miguel, I like it too. I think I'll always have it no matter what '02 I drive. Makes a nice bedroom ornament, too!)
