If the gauge bezels were originally chrome, you can send them off to be replated. There are lots of companies advertised in Hemmings Motor News that specialize in plastic restoration. Cost shouldn't be too much. Most of the "chrome" paints that I have seen or used give a finish that looks more like aluminum than chrome, and the enamel ones usually come off on your hands even after they have dried. They are good for refinishing taillight reflectors, but for anything that was originally chrome like a bumper, they will not give as brilliant a finish. Just my .02 cents worth. Good Luck.
