"Stronger" is not the word I would use. The rebuilt unit has clean new cylinder & piston surfaces that let the piston move with less resistance than the old, probably gummy and maybe corroded surfaces on the old unit you left on the passenger's side.

I wouldn't go so far as to categorically state that you must redo both sides, but chances are if one side wears out the other side is close. Of course if you replace one due to some catastrophic failure like a crash, then replacing the other side is a matter of determining its condition.

At least you should take a good look at the passenger side unit.

Hi 02 pilots. I just put a shiny, newly rebuilt caliper on my driver's side and now it seems that the car pulls a bit to the left on hard braking. Is this because it is stronger than the old (yet functional) part on the right side? Does that make sense? Should they always be replaced in pairs? Or did I do something wrong when installing the new driver's caliper? Thanks!

p.s. pads are all new and even on both sides.
