uneven tickover. (archive)

My Tii will not tick over evenly it drifts between 850 and 950 RPM as it it were going in and out of faze. Does anyone know how to fix this whether its electrical or mechanical.

The engines just been rebuilt. The throttle body's been replaced with a good second hand one. The alternator light also stays faintly on on low revs (Could this be connected??)

The car has a K & N filter that is not particularly well designed in that there is nowhere to place the vac hose from behind the butterfly and, where should I put the end of the rocker head hose apart from (around)the gearbox

Need help.
