msd box mounting (archive)

Just bought an MSD ignition box. It is bigger than I had anticipated, and I can't figure out where best to mount it. The most room is in the engine bay near the exhaust, but the book says that is verbotin. Where I'd like to put it is behind the glove box, but there is a defroster hose there. Lower on the bulkhead inside it is an uneven surface.

Suggestions?
