1) I recall removing two wires, one had a red casing on the female connector that--I think--went on the bottom horizontal "tang." Which wire goes on top, and am I correct in thinking that the lower wire goes on the horizontal tang and not the vertical tang?
2) I also wondered if the starter crapped out on me, stranger things have happened. Is there a way to jumper it to the battery to test it? If so, which tangs (upper/lower, etc) should the jumper wires go to?
3) I have a feeling a test light is the only way to go here. Should the light stay on for the correct wire with the key at the ignition position, or only at the start position?
4) I have a whole slew of wires coming from two relays on the driver's side of the firewall, most of them emissions-related. Can anyone else with a '75 tell me if this is the correct place to source the starter wires, and if so, which they are?
5) Hanyes, true to form, tells me that there is a starter relay but doesn't tell me which one it is. I'm thinking I can check for continuity from the relay to the wire end to identify which is the correct wire. Would need to know which is the starter relay.
Thanks folks...I never learn my lesson on the wiring front. This will probably do it for me. Aside from this and getting a linkage issue squared away, my 38/38 conversion is done!
