I guess everyone has a right to sell for whatever the market will bear, but I still think a decent, not trashed but not necessarily pretty, rust-free, driveable 2002 can always be found for about $2000-$2500. I bought my uncrashed Cali rust-free, sunroof '72 in complete, original, driveable condition for $1000. It needed restoration, but was perfectly functional as it was. The moral here is that care and patience are rewarded when shopping for any car. Don't buy the first one you see; BMW made 300,000 of 'em so there are lots out there. And pay a fair price but don't get ripped off.
