I am at the point where I need to take the engine out of my tii. In the factory shop manual, it notes that you must take out the transmission on the tii prior to removal. On 02's, you can take the whole thing out at once. Has anybody taken the motor and tranny as a unit out of a tii... if so, what's the trick? THANKS.

No big trick, just make sure the shift lever is disconnected in addition to all the other things that need to be disconnected, remove radiatior, fan, air conditioning compressor. Tilt motor way back and it should come out. Oh yea, take off the hood!

My experience was that the engine/trans unit had to come out almost vertically, FWIW. I think I removed the airbox, intake tubes, starter and alternator as well, prior to removal. Good luck and post some pics!
