Brake light bulbs keep blowing out (archive)

On my 74, I have to replace the left (passenger side) brake light bulb every couple of months because it keeps blowing out. The right-side light has no such problem. Has anyone seen this problem before? Also, is there any special kind of bulb I should try? Archives were a dry hole. TIA.
