You are weighing two things. The safty of back seat vs the safty of the kids internals in the front. The cars that I have seen in the yard that have been hit in the back have not done too well in the back seat. My old 70 (god rest it's soul) was hit from the side and hit the rear q-panel and took one of the belts out of the car. If I knew that the right side was going to get hit I'd put the kid in the back but if I did not know I'd put her in the front with the protection of the front belt. Then there is the third dimention, your wife. Should you disagree with her about her child's safety or not? I cannot win a disscussion like that and would perfer not to start one. but above all things let the kid enjoy the 02.
