There is a lot of force on the air dam as you drive at higher speeds. The best way I ever found to mount an air dam is to use a blind thread insert called a Rivet Nut. You drill a hole, insert the Rivet Nut with a special tool and then swage it into place. It's a very solid connection and guaranteed not to work loose if you do the installation correctly.
