Replacing propeller shaft questions (archive)

Prop shaft is chipped in a few places in new tranny I bought and I have 2 other trannies w/ perfectly good props, so I thought, if it is an easy swap, I would do it.
Do I only need to unscrew the coupling nut that goes over the prop shaft to replace it?
If so, what is the size of that nut and what could I use to remove it? (looked in archives and found something similar(24mm) but sounded like they were talking about the Drive shaft)
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Jimi
