I looked into this problem last week and the recommendation i got was to use 75w-90 oil in the tranny and 80W-90 in the diff. This was a oil manufacturers recommendations based on the owners manuals GL-4 and GL-5 recommendations.

A week ago there was a discussion on what weight oil to use in the transmission. I think the concensus was 90 wt.

Would I be able to get away with Valvoline 80W90 gear oil if I cannot find just 90 weight?
