Why?

1: Soft mounts will create small amounts of flex in the linkage between the two carbs. Almost negligible amounts, but its still there.

2: Soft mounts will seal inconsistently, causing air leaks.

I've been told that the softmount kits were designed for rougher running engines (british) than the 02, and that the 02 can get by without them. Jeremy at Ireland Engineering told me that he would sell me a softmount kit, but that he doesnt have one on his car. Noting Jeremy's stature in the 02 community, I think that is enough for me.
