You first need to remove the interior door panel to be able to remove the handle. While you're in there might as well grease the window mechanisms and replace the vapor barrier on re-assembley.
You will need a replacement tumbler if yours has fallen apart, and a competant 'old school' locksmith.
If your old tumbler is still intact, the locksmith can remove the wafers from it and place them in the new tumbler.
Short of doing that, there are plenty of door handles available on this forum if you don't mind having a seperate key for the driver's door.
I've done this very thing with my door locks. P-mail me if you have any add'l questions.
