If you take the two coils and put them on a testing machine with the capacity to do so you will find that the blue coil doesn't put out as much voltage as a stock tii coil. The red coil does put out more voltage than the stock tii coil. I have tested both coils in the past (about 12 years ago) since my tii had a blue coil on it from the prior owner. The blue coil will work just not as well as the red coil. Knowledgeable tuners will tell you this much.

I thought the only difference was ballast resistor blue and none red
why doesnt the tii like it?
