When you hit someone from behind, you are at fault, period, end of story. Compound that with leaving the scene. Don't tarry....file the accident report. Whether either of you has insurance isn't the issue. What are you gonna do when your (then) ex girlfriend sues you? Don't laugh... I have the -shirt on this one...
