PS, I've had the same problem with lazy CA cops, but they're not all bad...
Was driving the trusted 02 in Brooklyn, just as I was approaching a rump into the BQE (our little autostrada) the car in front stopped (don't ask me why) and a Chevy Malibu (98-99) kissed my ass pretty hard. I pull to the side get out and the guy just drives away. Just like that, looks at me ad drives away (I have time to get his license plate). Encouraged by my girlfriend (are you going to get him or do I have to!?) I run after him with no luck. Now my big (thank god for the ugly 76 bumper!) is all the way in on my driver side (no apparent frame damage) I have no collision coverage (try pay the premium) I never the less decide to report the incident. I get to the police precinct (this is Brooklyn) and tell the story to a Policewoman who nicely tells me to just let it go. Yes, she tells me to just forget it... the insurance will raise my premium, the accident will be on MY record and they will NEVER do anything to the guy who hit me.
So end of story, now you tell me if this is the way things are, then I just hope that no SUV driver finds out and decides to go into a 02 killing spree....
By the way what should I do with my bumper?
