Thanks for all the wonderful comments. I really must give credit to the 02 forum for all that has been accomplished. Without the archives I would be still trying to get the 320i radiator in.
Here's the skinny on what I have done:
Back Seat
633 csi blue leather
I got them for free from the junk yard to use as a template. They aren't in the greatest condition but have served my purpose well. What you need to do is get three pieces from the junk yard: center consol, left and right buckets. I did a test fit of the three to find the location for the center consol. Luckily enough it fit snugly against the rear wall and was a snap to mount. The buckets don't fit snugly because the back of the seat is a fiberglass bucket with ridges on it. You have to cut approximatley 1/4th of the outside top of the back out to clear the wheel arches. This will be easily understood during a test fitting. All I used was a cutting wheel on my drill. About 10 minutes of effort per seat and you are done. To mount the buckets you need to screw them to the rear pannel from inside the trunk. Next, you need to fab 4 small brackets to hit the lower brackets on the bottom of the seats. I don't have seat belts yet but a good option would be to buy the 6 series lap belts with the seats so the fit in the plastic cups perfectly. I still have some work to do on the rear deck but that can wait for another day.
Engine: All the ususal upgrades, weber 32/36, bosh blue coil, 320i alternator, 320i radiator, 5 series starter.
The engine is somewhat polished but still needs some work. I have been using a series of wire and copper brushes on my drill and dremel. Also it is handy to have a few wire brushes handy to get those sensitive or hard to reach areas.
Next: 38/38 progressive, tii distributor, alpina air-dam, paint, wheels (undecided).
I'll fill you in as I go and thanks for the wonderful comments.
Thanks,
Chuck
