I filled up and then parked on a slight downhill at WalMart. When I came out about 15 minutes later I had gallons, really gallons of gas on the ground in front of the car. It came from a line that runs along the driver's side, up under the battery tray, and along the underside of the radiator. What is this line doing? The car is a carb'd 75. I stuck a bolt in the line to keep it from leaking. I have been running the car for a year and a half and have never noticed any leaking. Is this an unused return line? What can I do to rectify the situation? Thanks for your help and happpy (leak free) 02ing.

Dan,
That line is the fuel return line from the fuel return valve that is part of the emissions components on the 50 state '75 02's. If the valve has been removed then a common thing to do is what has been done to cap it off.

On a similar note - on Tii engine conversions that line becomes the supply line and the usual supply line becomes the return line.

Rob
