just picked up an old radio from a 72tii to install in my 76o2 wiring looks pretty straight forward but i am not sure what size in line fuse to use from the power source. any help?? thanks.

It depends on the kind of radio. If you really mean original, a 2 amp fuse would be sufficient.

For a newer unit with higher power and cassette or CD player, more like 5 amps.
