first off, how old is your battery? that would most likely be your problem. if it turns over, then stops, everything should be hooked up ok. i guess it's possible that there is a bad connection or the new battery cables are to small of gauge and the battery only has enough juice for a few cranks. try taking it somewhere to get tested
