Yes yes, things are nice again. Mark-ny and I, and one of the Toyota techs got the tranny back in on friday evening. The questionable garage guy charged a fair price for the dismantling. For good measure I stayed with the car until the tow truck showed up.
On a side note, for all the diehards who will always, always do the job themselves; the tranny was a major pain in the but to get back in place. With the car on a lift and three of us we had to try several times to get it right. Squeezing the bellhousing past the header was a really tight fit and required just the right combo of stratagy and brute force. Myself, on my back, under the car, with all the best intentions, would NEVER have been able to do it. I'm all for wrenching these cars ourselves. Most times it's the only way to get the job done, but sometimes you just know things are not going to go nicely flying solo. In any case, now I just need to bleed the slave cylinder and everything should be back to normal.

Thanks everyone for your suport, Especially you Mark.

Jonathan T.
