I Would always choose hogh-powered tens over 12s in a car. You cant hear the bass produced by 12s in the confines of a car anyways (sound waves are too long to fit), but you get plenty of rumble. The best woofers Ive tried are my ancient kickers 2x10" on a 370w bridged PPI amp in a sealed box. loud as hell, but its a quality hell. when picking out woofers, you basically get what you pay for except for the way-expensive models which are not worth that much money. look for the lowest part of the frequency response to be as low as possible. in other words a woofer rated to go from 28-500hz is better than one that will go from 35-5000hz. Obviously, you want to match power output to power handling, and also try to get as "sensitive" a woofer as possible. Dont look at anything less than around 88-90db with 1 watt at 1 meter.its also true that less power is more damaging than more power. you are more likely to clip a mid-sized or small amp causing damaging signals to hit the woofers than a larger more powerful amp. think of it as a powerful motor, you just dont have to work it as hard to get the same results.

OK, I want some info on sub woofers. What do the specification they give you mean? And why do you get more power with less ohms and all that (with the amps)? I know this isn't directly related with 02's, but I wanna know so I can put some in my 02. Also I hear 2 10's with a lot of power sounds better than 2 12's with moderate power, is this true?
