It would be interesting to see what speed he hit the wall (less his forward speed.) It really didn't seem that fast, but obviously enough.

He was from the old school - open face helmet, no HANS device around his neck to help keep his head from snapping forward (required equipment in IRL and Formula One.)

Yes, he was from the Old School - which is what made him very special, along with all his God-given talent!
