Well my first one cost $1500 unreg, the second 2000 reged, (both 71's) needing a new motor & a litle rust work, I have seen really nice examples for 4500, & i know of one for about 5500 going now, i've seen heavily modified ones for 9000 in sydney (brakes suspension, 5 speed 45's high lift cam) and even modified turbo for 9500. there are plently out there at different levels, your best bet would be to join a bmw club, the one in sydney puts out a classified page where all these things are sold
I don't think it is too expensive for motors & parts as long as you know where to look, i've built a couple of motors & am currently building another one & until now that was on a students income!
