Does anyone know how difficult it would be to take the metal skin off a non sunroof car and pot the skin from a sunroof car on it? the sunroof shell I have has a bend in the roof, so it looks like using the whole roof is out of the question.

Thanks, Karl

I've done this on a 69 2002. It wasn't hard. Did it in about 5-6 hours. You simply remove the whole top and graft on another!

First you need a donor car... then remove ft & rear windshields etc (my cars where both stripped down so they were bare).

First measure carefully! And mark where you plan on cutting w/perminate marker. Then weld bars across the car in the door opening and 1/4 window area and if your sills are questionable from front to back off the interior as well (to keep the car from spreding once the top is off). Then make sure the car is dead level (ie jack the car up evenly on all sides and shim if necessary). This is to give you a baseline to start work from.

I cut the A pillar at the bottom, the B pillar at the very top (so it wouldn't show) and the C pillar at the bottom. You will need to cut the donor pillars slightly longer and grind to fit the windows.... Do a trial fit if in doubt.

Have fun!

WH
