do any of you historians know how BMW got it's

TRANS-AM circuit? That's Datsun's only claim to fame, an amateur race circuit where Datsun put all of it's muscle and backing because it knew it couldn't win anything else. The 02's were private entries while the Datsun team enjoyed the support of the factory. The same is true for SCCA. Datsun also claims to have trounced the Alfa's. That's another joke. Where was Datsun in the major circuits and endurance races ?????? Take apart a 510 and tell me what you think. I don't race cars, but I've driven and worked on both the 510 and 2002. To put it simply, the 510 motor is a truck engine. It is also used on many forklifts.
