You could probably rig something up with an engine stand (<$50 USD). In this photo, you see the engine mounted to the side and not to the fly-wheel end of the block. If I were to try and crank this engine, I would first brace it on the other side too.

Or keep front cross-member of the parts car. And set the engine in it original mounts.
