There is some reinforcing on the unibody just behind the trailing arm and in front of the half shaft. I used some 2x4 roughly 10 inches long to distribute the load better and put a jackstand at these locations. You will need tall jack stands. My car is a 74. I understand the 74 & later ones have a little more metal down there, but I think this should work for earlier cars as well.

subframe? I was thinking that the cross beam that carries the diff mount bushing plate would be an OK place to put the 'stands, but it doesnt appear to have been designed to hold up the whole rear of the car. Either that or rig up some kind of wooden carrier to distribute the weight along the rockers (i know, i know) and/or floorpan? Im not to happy about my options here, so as always all help is appreciated!
