The fabled hole (about 5/32" or 4 mm. diameter) is on the back side of the vent window knob. You find it most easily with a flashlight and a small piece of mirror (otherwise it's a black hole in a black knob). Push the cover outward, away from the panel with the short end of a 3 mm. hex key (Allen wrench). The screw that holds the knob onto the car is behind this cover.

btw, don't do what I did (the first time, before I knew about the hole) and pry the cover out with a thin screwdriver, it mangles both the cover and the knob.
