As others have said, put sarah wrap over res. opening and cap it tight. This alone will prevent a lot of leakage but often the best final approach is to use a GOLF TEE jammed into the hose end. Its somewhat soft and holds the remaining fluid from escaping. Pinching it WILL damage the hose - especially a metal hose.

master cyl. of fluid? right now Ive got the hose pinched with vice grips.
