Thanks to everyone who supplied advice; my rear subframe is out now. In addition to undoing the brake lines, taking out the 22 mm bolts in the bushings, and the 17 mm bolts holding the diff on, there was one part no one mentioned -- the emergency brake cables. So, I took off one of the drums == easy. Went to the other side == no go. Sprayed liquid wrench liberally, and used a very sophisticated hammer technique to no avail for a couple of days. Finally went to Pepboys and bought a 12 buck gear puller. Worked like a charm -- pop! went the drum. Had some trouble keeping it even, but it finally came down. Now, to the body shop for some rust repair and a new coat of Turkis!!
