Generally spring rate doesn't change, but unloaded length (and hence loaded length) does change with age. The simplest method to determine if your springs are old is to measure the ride height of the car. Of course, unless your bushings, spring seats, etc., are fresh, they too will contribute to age-related lowering of the car.

Is there any way to tell if I need new springs? Even if I get new, I want the stock feeling and ride height... can I somehow get the springs tested? I am sure they are original... THANKS!
