Everything I see in the archives indicates that you should have 30mm venturis for a basically stock motor. For some reason, I thought you had 40DCOEs. I have the 40s but I would expect that 30mm is available for the 40s too. Everthing on the 45DOCEs is the same as far as I know expect for the larger intake bore dia. From the archives, for 30mm venturies, you want 115 main jets, F9 e-tubes, 200 air correctors and 50F8 idle jets. If your venturis are too large, things won't run properly. It has do with proper air/fuel ratio at higher rpms (even at lower road speeds). At the worst case scenario, you could do some damage to the engine if it's running too lean. Things may run ok at idle, when you first crack the throttle open and progression from idle to higher rpms. But the venturi sizes and consequent air/fuel ratio becomes a factor on its own in the upper portion of the rpm range. You really should do a road test and check your plug color to check for too lean or too rich a mixture at the higher rpms, which will be affected by the venturi sizes, main jets and air correctors. As I said earlier, the emulsion tubes only come into play during acceleration. Am not sure if I am confusing things for you or not.My recomendation, and you will hear it from others, is use venturi and jetting sizes from that recommended in the archives, by a Weber supplier or from a Weber book specific to your car/setup. Avoid any guesswork and trial and error tuning and things will go much better. LOL
