Tim,

If you prepped your tank according to the directions and let it dry out REAL well, and you made sure that you coated the tank well by constantly rotating it with the solution in it, then I'd say you are done. Since the directions did not say to give it a second coat, then I wouldn't do it. My tank had a couple leaks at the seams. I followed the directions, allowing the solution to linger in the areas of the leaks a little longer than the rest of the tank, and I have no more problems.

HTH,

just finished putting the coating material on the inside of my gas tank. after i finished draining the excess i have about 3/4's of a can unused.
question - after it dries should i put a second coat on the inside of the tank? has anyone done this? is it a smart or dumb thing to do?
i think i could probably put about 3 or 4 more coats on the inside. I hate to throw the stuff away (too expensive) and want to do the best job possible while the tank is out.
ideas? suggestions?
thanks one and all.
