I almost went to go look at that car (Queens, right?) but my wife said ixnay on the hitewhay.
I instead held out and bought a 73 tii, in GOLD, (which, on paper, sounds like drool. But in person really is growing on me.)
Anyway, I can relate to the driving home "grinning like an idiot all the way". But I only drove from Northern Westchester to Rockland, so I am making up for it by grinning like an idiot to work, to the store, to Home Depot. Heck, grinning every where I go now.
Enjoy it. The tii is simply nothing short of a blast!

I'm the proud new owner of a '72 2002tii, but I almost can't believe it. I bought it in New York, and just drove it home to Chicago, grinning like an idiot all the way.
Thanks to everyone who helped me with buying this great car. I was really impressed with how helpful, honest, generous and just plain nice everyone was who I dealt with.
Not sure if anyone else had this experience but it was almost surreal, to see this car in my driveway which I had been studying and salivating over for about 4 years.
If anyone's interested, this was the same tii which was taken for a x-country trip, and was written about on the bayarea02.com website (Features: "The White Story")
