I did the same thing, sort of, last month. I bought a '74tii in Corona, California and drove it up Highway 1 to Seattle, grinning the whole way. I also catch myself breaking into grins every time I look out my window and see it resting on the curb, approach it in a parking lot, turn back to look at it after parking, etc. The best thing, though, is sharing honks and waves with other '02s you see on the road. It's like a secret ritual, like you've joined the Masons or the Knights of Columbus or something. Like you are saying to one another, "Hey! You did this too?"
