You can still get body panels. The problem is that generally where is lots of visible rust, there is even more hidden rust. Car of this vintage didn't have any sort of real rust preventative coatings.

Besides, there is a lot of labor involved in replacing body panels correctly. Most of us don't have the expertise, the garage space, the equipment, or patience to do the work correctly.
