I already have the 15x7 wheels. They're from a 325is (gold center basket weave BBS). 205-50-15 tires really rub. I've got it lowered 2" and want to avoid flares if possible. Will 195-50-15 tires solve my problem and work well in all respects?

It sure will help. I recommend, rolling out the fenders. This way you can clear the 205s and get that nice clean extended flare look.
