I had a 73tii back in 73. It was off the shelf and I loved it. The 74tii I just purchased is a bit more exotic and has some modifications.
My engine is an early Korman Stage II, which is simply balanced and blueprinted with stock components and only 15k miles on it. Question! If I wanted to replace my stock cam with the Shrick 292, would it require anything more than perhaps valve springs? And, would it make enough difference to even go to the expense?
All opinions welcome.
if you have a korman stage II engine then you already have a performance cam. Most stage II engines had the K300 cam installed. It's a stock cam regrind w/about 300 deg overlap (but less lift than a schrick 292). The schrick 292 will produce an odd 5-7 hp more....
Keep what you have! Spending all the $$ and effort to change cams will get you very little.... especially with only 15K mi on the engine.
