Advice on exhaust system (archive)

I have a 74 with 32/36,tii dist and tii manifold. The resonator has been removed. Need new system. Would the stock exhaust be the best or would custom be better? Talked to one shop and they want to run 2-2" pipes all the way back to a less restrictive muffler and then out. Would this not be enough restriction? He said they have done this on several others. Any suggestions or advise on a system would be appreciated. I have received alot of good advise from this site. Thanks!
