I dont know If you have the same stuff in the states but here in Ireland and in the UK we have a wax based corrosion inhibitor called Waxol.
Everty cavity on my 02 is coated in it(Inner sills, Inner doors, Bonnet, Wheel arches(inner.under) Just make sure none of the drain holes are blocked. Only thing is when you apply it it looks like your 02 has a really bad head head cold(snot every where!!).

I'm thinking of drilling holes in the bottom inside door shell so that rain water will run out. I'm getting rust on both lower doors. Is this a wise move?
