Certainly try and find out where the gas is coming from. There are a few high pressure soft hoses & hard lines near the pump as well as the expansion tank and also the fuel return lines wind up there too. FWIW last time I had to look 275 for the pump should was doable, but I doubt its the pump, either a connection or somehting else has sprung a leak.
