I made a fork tool out of 1/4" mild steel. Just cut out a 12" long rectangular piece, just wide enough to fit, and cut a slot in it with a hacksaw. Put 3 or 4 identical hacksaw blades on one frame (at the same time) for a wide cut. Don' cut it too wide...it's supposed to fit over the rocker arm rib and slide beneath the wider bit of the casting where the arm rides on the cam.

See the Haynes manual for a picture.

Mike

Any suggestions for an alternative to the BMW tool?? What alternative to people use for depressing the rocker arms? TIA

Mauricio
