Bought 75 02 this weekend-- having idle problems (archive)

Bought my first running 02 this weekend. The person I purchased it from put a smog legal Weber carb on it so that it could pass smog. However, it failed the visual inspection because it is missing some sort of shroud from the exhaust manifold to the air intake?? Anyway, that's another story...

On my first solo drive after purchase, it lost idle and all gauges except the speedometer. Found out that the wire to the "anti-diesel solenoid" had broken off, and shorted a fuse. I went to NAPA autoparts to get a new anti-diesel solenoid, but because I don't know the Weber carb model #, I was SOL (I really just don't think the guy cared enough to dig around more). So, I soldiered the connector back on to the solenoid, replaced the fuse, and everything worked fine for my next solo ride. Anyone know where I can get a new solenoid for my Weber in Sacramento?

Anyway, I lost idle again on my next drive today. However, the solenoid is still hooked up. Any ideas for me this time?

Also, there is this noise coming from the tranny now... sounds like the noise that those plastic electric toy cars that little kids ride around in make (the battery powered little cars from Toys r us). It's sort of a whir... I fear the worst at this point.

Any help much appreciated.
