Both the 02 and 320i 4-speed rear casings do not fit. I have a 5-speed I bought for cheap from a boneyard , with a crack in the rear casing. I've been looking for a rear casing. I've been keeping my eye out for a 5-speed at a wrecking yard that has a cracked bellhousing or other damage, but a good rear casing. No luck yet.

Depending on where the crack is and how bad, you might be able to get it welded up and repaired. This has been done before. Getting the casings apart and back together is a bit tricky. If you haven't done it before, you'd probably be better off letting a shop do that plus the welding.
