Definitely replace your guibo. Get new nuts and bolts for this. While you're in there, you might as well rebuild the shift linkage and (as you pointed out in your post) replace the shift platform mounts. This really is too bad of a job, maybe takes an hour-and-a-half. Just drop your exhaust (detach downpipe from the manifold), unbolt the driveshaft center support (and check it for cracks, etc), and get the new guibo on there really snug. You might also want to upgrade to a 320i tranny mount, which will require hogging out the hole in the tranny crossmember.
