Now here's a good one...........some of you may remember my post last friday (commuted home at 110mph!!!). Well, same thing happened today with another speedometer installed!!!
See, I installed the speedo out of my parts car (had been repaired once before from the markings on the rear plate)....this one gave up the ghost on the way home too!!!
I have had TWO speedometers break in 2 days of commuting home from work (Friday and Monday)!!!
Is this just bad luck or could my cable be causing the speedometer to break? I've not ever had this problem before on the car ('76 '02, 82,000 miles).
Thanks for any help...there's obviously something wrong!

Could be one of 3 things:
1. Speedo bad (duh)
2. Cable
3. gear in trans.
Maybe the cable is binding, thus storing energy as it wraps up and releases. Try lubing it. Just a thought.
