so I looked in the archives, but wanted to get a few things cleared up. Way back, someone mentioned that one glues the paper gasket to the pump before installation. What to you use, I was thinking Gasacinch.

Someone also mentioned *not* using any silicone. I don't think I can get away with that -- theres a groove in the timing cover that needs filling in. if anyone has any better suggestions I'd like to hear it.

finally, do any of the waterpump bolts (the long ones seem most likely) go into the water jacket, ie do they need to be sealed?

oh wait- one more. the hose from the pump to the intake runs right along the block!! it held up OK, but looks like it'll go any minute -- does anyone find problems with this setup, or should I make sure theres something insulating that hose from the block?

thumbs up to BMW for making all the bolt heads on this job either 10mm or 13mm!!

thumbs down to them for the plethora of hoses -- my SB ford only has 3 water hoses - in, out and one to bypass the heater!
